The authorities must be certain that the foreign national:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 has access to medical treatment in case of illness, \u2013 will not place a burden on the National Health Fund (NFZ) if he is not entitled to its services, \u2013 has the financial means to cover any hospitalization costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this reason, it is required that <strong>Health Insurance for Foreigners<\/strong>, which covers the costs of outpatient and inpatient care, medical transportation, and essential emergency services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What type of insurance is accepted when extending a stay?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In most cases, the agency requires an insurance policy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 valid for the entire period for which the foreign national is applying for an extension of stay, \u2013 covering medical treatment and hospitalization costs, \u2013 issued in Polish or English, \u2013 confirmed by proof of premium payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Special [...], are used for this purpose <strong>Health insurance for a residence card<\/strong>, which meets all formal requirements.
